About
Ulrik Alexander Cornelius Schjerbeck (b. 2000) is a Danish visual artist. His visual language is open and resists definitive categorization. The viewer is invited into a theatrical pictorial world, where naive figuration, expressionist gestures, and surreal elements interact.

The works reflect opposites, the staged and the authentic, the emotional and the detached. In his practice, Ulrik explores new and conceptual compositions that revolve around presence and emptiness. Inspired by history and culture, intuitive contemporary interpretations emerge, where archaic, totem-like figures appear within a surreal context.
The works can be read as pictorial responses to a musical with staged, dramatic narratives.
