Excerpt from the exhibition essay by Selene Loaiza:

“The exhibition operates on two levels that are not separate but reciprocal. The first belongs to the artist. A practice becomes singular not through the accumulation of skill but through the accumulation of self. When an artist pays sustained, uncompromising attention to their own way of seeing - therefore of being -  to their obsessions, their sensitivities, their particular and irreducible relationship to the world, something inimitable occurs. The work ceases to be produced and begins to be inhabited. At that point, the work could not have been made by anyone else. That is not a question of style or technique. It is a question of their own presence. Of how long and how honestly a person has looked at being alive and allowed that looking to saturate everything they make. The second level belongs to the viewer. And this is where the show makes its most intimate demand. What if you trusted your own response?
